Matt O'Riley's move to Brighton was finalised this week after the Celtic midfielder completed a medical at the Premier League club today.
In what will be a Scottish-record transfer fee, O'Riley has signed a five-year deal at The Seagulls as the Dane looks to start the next chapter of his career.
And whilst a move to England's top flight is the dream for many footballers, Chris Sutton has shared what he really thinks of the departing Celtic midfielder's move after he watched his old club beat St Mirren yesterdayy.
O'Riley told he is 'downgrading' from Celtic We discussed over the weekend how Sutton praised O'Riley for his conduct whilst Celtic negotiated the PS30m deal with Brighton.
And whilst the former Celtic hero stands by that, he has told O'Riley that in terms of club size, the Dane has now downgraded.
Sutton told BBC 606, "He's downgrading. Club size, absolutely downgrading. Do you know what, though?
"He's conducted himself superbly well. Hasn't been one of those players who's thrown his toys out of the pram demanding a move. Brilliant player for Celtic.
"Celtic are going to miss him, but they have to compete in the Champions League this season and they need new signings. Is Matt O'Riley irreplaceable?

"I think he is. He is that good. Great signing for Brighton, though."
O'Riley will be missed by Celtic Now that the move has gone through, O'Riley will undoubtedly be a huge loss for Celtic for what he offers both on and off the pitch.
But off it, the Celtic midfielder was a class act. Inspirational to his teammates in training, O'Riley is clearly highly regarded in the Parkhead dressing room.
And after the way Brendan Rodgers spoke about O'Riley's professionalism at the weekend, it seems that the Celtic boss really respects and will miss his departed midfielder.
