Wolves were dumped out of the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night by Brighton - and Tommy Doyle has now sent a message after captaining the side.
Wolves could not bounce back from the defeat to Newcastle United in the Premier League last weekend, losing 3-2 at the Amex Stadium.
It was a woeful first-half display, but Wolves were given hope when Goncalo Guedes scored just before the break to make it 2-1.
Wanderers should have got back level, with Rodrigo Gomes and Guedes both having great chances.
But Brighton scored through Ferdi Kadioglu late on to give Wolves too much to do.
Tommy Doyle grabbed a late consolation for the visitors, and he has now sent a message to fans after last night's result.
The first-half performance was really poor, but the players picked up their level in the second and should really have got back on level terms.
MORE WOLVES STORIES
But it was still a poor defeat overall, and frustrating for those who made the long trip down to the south coast. Had Wolves turned in a similar second-half display to their first, there would have been fury today.
One man who actually gave a good account of himself last night was Doyle, who was the captain of the side with Mario Lemina on the bench.
Fans praised the Englishman for his display, with many feeling he was the standout for Wolves amid a poor collective performance.
Those fans will no doubt appreciate Doyle's message on social media today then, as he acknowledged those who went to the game.
He sent the 15-word message: "Thank you to everyone that travelled last night. Sticking together & refocusing for the weekend."
It's the little things Fans are frustrated after the latest defeat to Brighton, especially those who actually made the trip down to the Amex.
Most of those that featured last night have stayed silent after last night's game. But it is good of Doyle to at least acknowledge those that went, and this kind of thing is probably to be expected of him now.
He gets it, and he is clearly also a leader, as evidenced by him being the captain last night.
Doyle really ought to play more for Wolves, but he has very tough competition from the likes of Lemina, Joao Gomes and Andre. In that sense, he is probably the most unfortunate player in the whole squad.
It would be great to see him against Villa, although it would be no surprise to see O'Neil plump for a more athletic and dynamic midfield to try and stifle the home side.
