Leicester City predicted XI v Bournemouth as Steve Cooper makes Facundo Buonanotte call
Source:Leicestershire Live

Facundo Buonanotte is at the heart of the biggest decision Steve Cooper has to make when he picks his Leicester City line-up to take on Bournemouth.

The Argentinian could either play on the right wing, in attacking midfield, or be left on the bench when City host the Cherries on Saturday afternoon (3pm kick-off).

His role will be dependent on how attacking Cooper wants his team to be.

Buonanotte started on the right wing last time out against Arsenal.

If he plays there again, that would give Cooper the chance to start Bilal El Khannouss in attacking midfield in what would be City's most forward-thinking line-up yet.

Equally, he could stick with Wilfred Ndidi there after the Nigerian registered his fourth assist of the season at the Emirates.

If Cooper is keen to bring Jordan Ayew back into the fold, then that could either force Buonanotte into a central position, or it could see him move to the bench if the manager wants to retain all of Ndidi, Oliver Skipp, and Harry Winks in midfield.

Ayew didn't start at Arsenal because he'd taken a knock in the week before the game, but when he's been fit, he's been a regular starter for Cooper.

However, Cooper said some players had not trained this week and were touch-and-go to feature against the Cherries.

While he would not specify who, Ayew is one of those who has not been pictured in the photos and footage released of sessions from Seagrave, perhaps pointing more towards a Buonanotte start.

Elsewhere in the side, there are not expected to be changes.

Jannik Vestergaard is back in training, but is unlikely to unsettle the centre-back partnership of Wout Faes and Caleb Okoli.

Once again, James Justin and Victor Kristiansen are likely to be the full-backs.

On the left wing, Stephy Mavididi will hope to continue his good goalscoring form this term.

Up front, it will again be Jamie Vardy captaining the side.

Predicted City XI (4-2-3-1): Hermansen; Justin, Faes, Okoli, Kristiansen; Winks, Skipp; Buonanotte, Ndidi, Mavididi; Vardy.
