Sky Sport Italia has reported that Chelsea is exploring options to acquire Victor Osimhen from Napoli by offering Romelu Lukaku along with EUR90 million and a promising young player. This move comes amidst speculation about Osimhen's departure from Naples at the end of this season, triggered by an agreed upon exit clause worth EUR120 million.
The Nigerian striker has garnered attention not only from Chelsea but also Paris SaintGermain and Arsenal. PSG sees him as a potential replacement for Kylian Mbappe who might be heading towards Real Madrid while Arsenal too is keen on securing his services.
Intriguingly, transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio revealed that Chelsea have initiated talks with Napoli regarding Osimhen's availability. The unique aspect of their approach lies in including Lukaku as part of their proposal which could help reduce costs significantly.
This development adds another layer of complexity given that Giovanni Manna will soon take over as Napoli's new sporting director. Notably, Manna had previously attempted to bring Lukaku to Juventus last summer indicating potential interest within Serie A circles for the Belgian forward.
