Chelsea will accept an appropriate offer for defender Trevoh Chalobah this summer despite his dramatic recent upturn in form, sources have told Football Insider.
The 24-year-old was surplus to requirements and looked set to be sold last summer (2023), but suffered a serious injury in pre-season to scupper a potential move.
But in a recent twist, Chalobah proved his worth upon his return to Mauricio Pochettino's side - and was surprisingly one of the first names on the Chelsea team sheet in the late stages of the 2023-24 campaign.
Nevertheless, the Blues need to sell to balance their books and avoid breaching Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSR) this summer.
Chalobah is an obvious candidate as he is an academy graduate and would therefore be classed as pure profit in the club's accounts.
He made 17 appearances across all competitions this term, scoring once in 1227 minutes of action.
Chelsea to sell Chalobah this summer despite resurgence The former England Under-21 international played both as a centre-back and also as a right-back in the absence of Reece James and Malo Gusto.
His contract at Stamford Bridge runs for four more years after the Sierra Leone-born ace penned a new deal in 2022.
Chelsea are also expected to sell academy product Conor Gallagher this summer after a stall in new contract talks.
Football Insider revealed last week (13 May) that Tottenham are still in the box seat to land the England international.
Pochettino's side finished sixth in the 2023-24 campaign and will qualify for next season's Europa League if Man City defeat Man United in Saturday's (25 May) FA Cup final.
