The transfer saga surrounding Samu Omorodion has taken center stage this summer, with the Spanish-born Nigerian striker attracting significant attention from top clubs across Europe.

Chelsea, in particular, have emerged as a frontrunner in the race for Omorodion's signature.

Reports indicate that the English club recently tabled a substantial bid of 40 million euros for the talented forward.

However, Atletico Madrid swiftly rebuffed Chelsea's offer, adamant about retaining Omorodion for the upcoming season.

Fabrizio Romano, a renowned football transfer expert, shed light on Atletico Madrid's stance during a recent YouTube broadcast.

According to Romano, the Spanish giants are steadfast in their belief in Omorodion's potential.

He emphasized that Atletico Madrid projects Omorodion's value to soar, potentially reaching up to 100 million euros in the coming years.

"Atletico hope to keep the player at the club. Atletico Madrid believe in the future the player could be worth 80,90, and 100 million euros. They are confident in the future of Samu Omorodion."

Fabrizio Romano discussed Chelsea's pursuit of Samu Omorodion, noting that the club remains persistent in their efforts to secure his signature.

He revealed that Chelsea continues to communicate with Omorodion's representatives to gauge his interest in a potential move to England.

"Chelsea are not giving up yet," Romano disclosed.

"Chelsea are still there, positioned and waiting to see what happens with the player on the club side. Meanwhile, they are making contacts on the player's side."

"What Chelsea are doing after their bid have been rejected is trying to know if the player is open to the move," Romano continued.

"Chelsea are exploring the players' side after the club side. There are interests from Italy for Samu Omorodion. For example Napoli but it depends on the future of Victor Osimhen."

"Chelsea are not giving up yet," Romano disclosed during the broadcast.

"They are actively pursuing Omorodion and have initiated discussions with the player's camp to gauge his openness to a move to England.

"Chelsea are not giving up yet. Chelsea are still there, positioned and waiting to see what happens with Samu on the club side. Meanwhile, they are making contacts on the player's side."

Omorodion joined Atletico Madrid in August 2023, signing a five-year contract and was immediately loaned out to Deportivo Alaves for the season.

His time at Alaves proved fruitful as he emerged as their top scorer in the 2023/2024 campaign, netting 8 goals and contributing one assist in 34 league appearances.
