Everton's former chief Keith Wyness has insisted Chelsea must finalise and announce their new front-of-shirt sponsor by the end of June.

Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider's Inside Track podcast, the 66-year-old - who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs - suggested the Blues must learn from last year's mistakes and wrap up a mega-money deal ahead of time.

Chelsea, who started last season with a blank kit, are still without a front-of-shirt sponsor for the 2024-25 campaign with their Infinite Athlete deal set to expire - although they are in talks over a renewal.

Finance expert Stefan Borson told Football Insider on Wednesday (19 June) that the Blues could be stopped from renewing their PS40million Infinite Athlete deal by new toughened Associated Party Transaction (APT) rules.

Borson claimed Chelsea owners Clearlake Capital have investment links with the sports data company, meaning they could struggle to get the deal cleared by the Premier League.

Chelsea to announce PS40m sponsorship deal within days, says Wyness Wyness previously told Football Insider (20 June) that the London club could attract a "major international airline" to sponsor the club, with any deal likely to match the PS40million paid by Infinite Athlete.

He told Football Insider's Insider Track podcast: "It's got to be wrapped up soon.

"Ideally, they'll want it done by the end of the month - so we're looking at days.

"That's what I'd expect.

"But from my experience, you always want the sponsorship situation signed, sealed and announced by the end of June each year."
