West Ham want to sign Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea to bolster their striker options for Julen Lopetegui, according to GiveMeSport.

Writing on their website (26 June), the news outlet report that the Belgium striker has emerged as an alternative for prime target Jonathan David [iNews, 19 June], who is available for around PS25million.

But the Hammers face big competition for the Canada international and Lukaku is available at Stamford Bridge after spending the last two seasons on loan in Serie A with Inter Milan and Roma.

West Ham know what a deal would cost, but want to clarify if the 31-year-old is interested in a move to the London Stadium before firming up their interest with an offer to their Premier League rivals.
