Chelsea have registered an interest in Nottingham Forest centre-back Murillo, football.london understands.
The 21-year-old enjoyed an impressive debut season in the Premier League last time out and has been linked with a number of top clubs this summer. Liverpool are said to be keeping an eye on his situation, too, but Chelsea are now considering a move for the centre-back.
The Blues will be without Thiago Silva next season with the Brazilian joining Fluminense on a free transfer, while the future of Trevoh Chalobah remains up in the air. Murillo has been identified as someone that can come in and improve the defensive line for incoming head coach Enzo Maresca.
However, Forest will not let their star defender leave the City Ground for cheap this summer. Sources have confirmed to football.london that the Nottingham-based club will demand 'way over' PS50million for the Brazilian's signature in the coming months.
Such a fee is likely to put Chelsea off given they have walked away from deals for Michael Olise and Nico Williams already this summer because of the financial demands. Under the Premier League's Profitability and Sustainability (PSR) microscope, every club has to be much more careful and cautious in the way they conduct business nowadays.
Either way, it shows Chelsea are still in the market for another centre-back and it perhaps does not bode well for Chalobah. The 24-year-old shone towards the end of last season for the Blues after recovering from a long-term injury but the club are still open to selling him in the summer transfer window, football.london understands.
Chalobah, an academy product, will see any sale for him account for pure profit under the PSR guidelines. Likewise, Ian Maatsen, who is on the verge of completing a permanent move to Aston Villa, will help Chelsea out massively with his sale.
Armando Broja is also on the transfer list. The Albania international is attracting interest from around Europe and Chelsea are looking for around PS35million for the striker this summer.

Chelsea will also listen to offers for Conor Gallagher, although nothing is likely to be decided on the midfielder's future until after England's involvement at the ongoing Euro 2024. The 24-year-old is a target for Aston Villa, who have already held talks with his representatives, and Tottenham this summer.
