Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall Leicester City exit 'complete' after Chelsea medical and contract update
Source:Leicestershire Live

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall's transfer from Leicester City to Chelsea is now 'complete'.

That is the word of Fabrizio Romano, who has freshly stated that the midfielder's new Stamford Bridge contract is in place and his medical has been completed. Therefore all that is yet to arrive is official confirmation from the two clubs.

Dewsbury-Hall's transfer was one that City could have seen coming as the club head back into the Premier League, as it was his stand-out performances that boosted promotion hopes. Manager Enzo Maresca's departure to Chelsea was the second-to-last domino to fall, now the Italian has ultimately revisited Leicester to snatch the 25-year-old.

It looks like his hand may have been forced as Brighton were in fact the first club to get in and strike an agreement. The Seagulls were set to hand over money plus Jakub Moder, however the deal collapsed in the final stages once Dewsbury-Hall learned of Maresca's late move.

The Foxes will pocket PS30m from the deal - one that wasn't entirely in their own hands as a push to comply with Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR) has driven the club's early-summer business. Although the PSR deadline for the 2023/24 campaign has now passed, this deal can still be back-dated and fall into that accounting period as the agreement was reached on Sunday, which is not a working day.

Also, this settling on an outright purchase comes after numerous Chelsea players were rumoured for a cash-plus-player swap deal. Instead, youth talent Michael Golding is to sign for Steve Cooper 's side in a separate PS5m transaction.

The 18-year-old midfielder is highly-regarded within the West London club's academy and was handed his first-team debut by Mauricio Pochettino in the FA Cup earlier this year.
