Newcastle United announce the permanent signing of 19-year-old full-back Lewis Hall from Chelsea.
Newcastle United have announced the permanent signing of teenage defender Lewis Hall from Chelsea. The 19-year-old completed a season-long loan move to the Magpies in August last year which includes an obligation to buy for an initial PS28m plus PS7m in add-ons.
A boyhood Newcastle supporter, Hall made his debut for the club in a thumping 8-0 Premier league win at Sheffield United in September last year and went on to make a total of 22 appearances in all competitions.
Hall scored twice for the Magpies last season and both goals came against Manchester United, firstly scoring in a 3-0 EFL Cup win last November before netting in a 3-2 Premier League defeat in May.
The England Under-21 international has now committed his future Newcastle, penning a long-term contract and ending his nine-year association with Chelsea, where he made 12 senior appearances.
Speaking to Newcastle's official website, Hall said: "I am extremely proud to be able to build on last season and continue my journey at Newcastle United.

- Newcastle United FC (@NUFC) July 1, 2024 Hall keen to 'repay the faith' shown by Newcastle "The fans, the manager and his staff, my teammates and everyone at the club have made me feel so welcome that I want to repay the faith they've shown in me.
"When you pull on the black and white shirt, there is no feeling like it and playing in front of the best supporters in the country is extra special for me being a Toon fan.
"I gained a lot of experience last season, and with the squad we have, we'll be looking to push on even further this season. I can't wait to get started."
Newcastle boss Eddie Howe added: "Lewis was a very good addition to our squad last season and we have been delighted with his progress and his contribution to the team.
"I'm very pleased to continue working with him. As well as being a talented player, he has a great attitude towards the game and to his own development and I'm excited for this next part of his journey in a Newcastle United shirt."
Hall becomes Newcastle's third signing of the summer transfer window after defender Lloyd Kelly and goalkeeper Odysseas Vlachodimos.
The teenager primarily operated as a left-back last season and he is expected to once again compete with Dan Burn for regular start in the 2024-25 campaign.
