Ecuadorian media discuss Moises Caicedo's confrontation with own teammate at Copa America
Source:The Chelsea

Chelsea midfielder Moises Caicedo has helped Ecuador to qualify for the quarter-finals of the Copa America.

Ecuador drew 0-0 with Mexico in their last group stage game to set up a tie with Argentina.

However, things got a bit heated at the end of the match between Moises Caicedo and teammate Carlos Gruezo.

It has been a talking point in Ecuador, but Felix Sanchez will not be too annoyed.

The most important thing for him is that his side have made it into the quarter-finals of the competition.

Ecuadorian outlet Ecuavisa explained on their website that the two players got into a confrontation in the middle of their country's celebrations.

The whole team eventually went into the dressing room, with Caicedo going on to collect the man of the match award for the game.

Caicedo, Gruezo and the rest of Sanchez's side are all going to have to be United if they are to have any chance of making it to the semi-finals, with a tough match against the World champions up next.

Moises Caicedo could be part of new-look midfield at Chelsea next season When Caicedo returns from the Copa America, he will link-up with new Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca.

Maresca could already be planning to make changes to the Blues' midfield, with Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall set to join the club.

It was reported on Sunday that Dewsbury-Hall was having his medical at Chelsea.

Last season, Caicedo played alongside Enzo Fernandez and Conor Gallagher, with Gallagher often playing just in front of the two.

However, with his contract running out, it now looks like Dewsbury-Hall could replace the 24-year-old.

If Gallagher does not sign a new deal, you would fully expect Chelsea to sell him this summer to avoid the risk of losing the England international for nothing next year. It is perhaps why they have moved for Dewsbury-Hall.
