Real Madrid Could Re-Sign This Chelsea Keeper: Should Ancelotti Bring Him Back?
Source:The 4th

In a recent report, Marca revealed that Real Madrid could re-sign Chelsea keeper Kepa Arrizabalaga this summer. It has been mentioned that Los Blancos have identified the Spaniard as a target and could move in for him if Andriy Lunin leaves the Madrid club this off-season.

Arrizabalaga's Impressive Loan Spell In Spanish Football Arrizabalaga had a decent loan spell at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium recently as he managed to put in a handful of impressive displays for them in La Liga last season. The 29-year-old found the back of the net 18 times and earned nine assists in 20 matches for the Madrid outfit in the previous campaign across various competitions.

The Spanish talent did well to average 0.6 clearances and 3.4 long balls per 90 minutes in La Liga. He has even been tidy when distributing the ball from inside his half after making 82.5% of his attempted passes in the Spanish top tier (stats via whoscored).

His current contract at Chelsea will run out at the end of next season. Thus, Real Madrid could potentially re-sign him on a cut-price deal in this transfer window.

The Spanish talent already knows the Madrid club well from his spell with them last season. Hence, we can expect him to make a smooth transition to life at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.

Arrizabalaga is good enough to serve as an ideal backup to Thibaut Courtois and would serve as a great replacement for Andriy Lunin if the Ukraine international leaves Real Madrid this summer.

Therefore, it makes sense for Los Blancos head coach Carlo Ancelotti to bring Arrizabalaga back to the Spanish capital either on loan or permanently before the start of the new campaign as he could help the Madrid giants compete across all fronts in the future.
