'To tell you the truth': Estevao Willian shares how he really feels after signing for Chelsea

Palmeiras winger Estevao Willian has been speaking about his move to Chelsea.

The Blues confirmed last month that they had agreed a deal with Palmeiras to sign Estevao Willian.

The Brazilian will not be able to join the Chelsea first team until next year when he turns 18.

However, it is probably fair to say that Estevao is still delighted to have signed for Enzo Maresca's side.

The Palmeiras star is not the only young player Chelsea have bought this summer. The club have also brought in 18-year-old Marc Guiu from Barcelona, confirming his arrival earlier this week.

But that has not stopped him from talking about his future club, sharing his happiness about his transfer with the Brazilian media.

"To tell you the truth, I got very happy inside," Estevao was quoted as saying by Globo Esporte. "I think it's an achievement that everyone dreams of, to play in Europe, with the biggest teams in the world.

"Today my head is at Palmeiras. What I did at Palmeiras was important for them to sign me."

Chelsea have made signings who can make an impact now Again, Estevao will not officially be a Chelsea player until next year, while Guiu is still just 18. Maresca cannot pin too much hope on the Spaniard.

However, Chelsea have made signings who are capable of making an impact from the very beginning of the 2024/25 season.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is 25 years of age and Tosin Adarabioyo is 26, and both men have played in the Premier League before.

Dewsbury-Hall just had an excellent season, helping Leicester City to win promotion back to the top flight. In 44 Championship appearances, the Englishman was able to come up with 26 goal contributions.

The Championship is obviously a weaker division than the Premier League, but Dewsbury-Hall, for example, is one Chelsea signing who should be able to offer the team something in the new campaign.
