Hernan Crespo has advised AC Milan to sign Romelu Lukaku this summer instead of Joshua Zirkzee.

Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku's future looks set to be away from Stamford Bridge this summer with HITC reporting that the Blues are keen to offload the Belgian forward.

Under Thomas Tuchel, the West London club forked out PS95 million to land the Belgian forward but sources have told HITC that Lukaku has a PS38 million release clause in his contract at Stamford Bridge.

AC Milan are understood to have held talks with Chelsea over the signing of Lukaku in the past week as they bid to fend off interest from Antonio Conte's Napoli in the forward.

However, HITC has reported that the Rosonneri are struggling to agree terms with Zirkzee's representatives as Manchester United and Arsenal have entered the race for the forward and encouraged him to wait.

Speaking to Italian outlet Gazzetta Dello Sport, Crespo believes that AC Milan should target Lukaku over Zirkzee.

"Milan need to score straight away," Crespo said. "The San Siro crowd doesn't have time to wait, and that's an important aspect.

"Zirkzee had an excellent season with Bologna, scoring 11 goals. Lukaku wasn't brilliant last season, but if he has the right motivation and if he's well prepared from a physical point of view, he can be a guarantee.

Zirkzee is young, how could he cope with the impact at San Siro? Believe me, someone who has experienced that emotion will tell you: playing in that stadium is not like playing anywhere else. Lukaku is used to the big stage.

"For today's Milan, Lukaku is more suitable."

United or Arsenal set to battle it out for Zirkzee HITC has also reported that the Dutch striker, before making any decision over his future, wants to understand the role he would have at his new club.

His current club Bologna are not ruling out Zirkzee staying but it is looking increasibly likely that the 11-goal forward will depart Serie A.

Both United and Arsenal are in need of a new centre-forward this summer with the Red Devils wanting cover for Rasmus Hojlund whilst the Gunners want a new striking option after missing out on Benjamin Sesko.
