In return, Napoli could sign Romelu Lukaku to reunite the Belgian striker with Antonio Conte.

The website states: "Napoli are in ongoing discussions with Chelsea to sign Romelu Lukaku, while dialogue between the clubs also continues about a deal for Victor Osimhen to head in the opposite direction. "It is expected that any move for Lukaku would be permanent, whereas the Osimhen talks centre on a loan with an option to buy.

"Should the Lukaku switch progress, it would see the 31-year-old striker reunited with new Napoli head coach Antonio Conte. They previously worked together for two seasons at Inter Milan.

"Lukaku spent the 2023/24 campaign on loan at another Serie A side, Roma, where he scored 21 goals across all competitions in 47 matches."

McKenna linked to England job

After the departure of Gareth Southgate from the England manager's role, the FA are looking for a replacement.

The Sun believes that Ipswich Town manager Kieran McKenna now has a chance at securing the job.

The paper reports: "Kieran McKenna is a shock contender for the England job. The FA are searching for a successor to Gareth Southgate and the Ipswich boss is on the list. "Eddie Howe, Graham Potter and Lee Carsley are the three favourites for the post. But Northern Irishman McKenna, 38, has emerged as another candidate after back-to-back promotions at Portman Road.

"FA technical director John McDermott is drawing up the shortlist to replace Southgate. And he worked with McKenna when he was a youth coach at Tottenham."

Sporting prepare for Gyokeres exit

Sporting Lisbon could be preparing to sell Viktor Gyokeres this summer, amid interest from Arsenal.

The Portuguese side have paid Coventry City to reduce the sell-on clause in the deal, opening up the club to receive more of any sum for the striker.

The Mirror explains: "Sporting Lisbon have dropped the biggest hint yet that Viktor Gyokeres could be sold this summer after paying to reduce Coventry City's sell-on clause. "The Sweden international, 26, is being courted by a host of top European clubs, including Arsenal, after enjoying a remarkable maiden season with the Portuguese giants.

"Gyokeres plundered 43 goals in 50 games for Sporting last season after leaving Coventry in a deal worth PS20 million. The Championship outfit inserted a sell-on clause into the deal during negotiations - but the amount of said clause has now reportedly been reduced.

"Sporting have paid a sum of EUR2m (PS1.7m) to take Coventry's 15% sell on clause down to just 10% - a move which could seriously pay off in the coming weeks."

Merino offered new deal

Real Sociedad have offered fresh terms to midfielder Mikel Merino amid speculation he may join Arsenal.

The Spain international is out of contract at the end of the season, so he could be available for a cut-price fee.

The Evening Standard reports: "Mikel Merino has been offered a new contract by Real Sociedad as the Spanish club bid to fight off interest from Arsenal. "The Gunners want to sign a new midfielder this summer and they are tracking Merino, who is currently on holiday after helping Spain win Euro 2024.

"Atletico Madrid and Barcelona have also been linked with a move for the 28-year-old, who is into the final 12 months of his contract.

"Sociedad, however, are hoping they can persuade Merino to stay and a new deal is on the table for him to sign."
