Chelsea and where they stand in transfer window – Osimhen latest
Source:Football.London -

Chelsea have been one of the most active Premier League clubs in this transfer window - and they're not done yet.

Todd Boehly is keen to give new manager Enzo Maresca every opportunity to improve on Chelsea's sixth-place finish last season.

He has already signed six new players, including Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall from Leicester for PS30million - who was a key part of Maresca's midfield at his previous club.

Boehly has also invested in youth players, with new signing Spanish forward Marc Guiu, 18, impressing in pre-season and youngsters Renato Veiga and Omari Kellyman joining for significant fees.

Conor Gallagher has also been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge, with Tottenham showing interest, but now there are reports of interest from Spain. Any move for the Englishman could generate funds that could be used for a new top striker.

Nico Williams is another target and a player that most top Premier League teams want, reports the Mirror. So here is the latest on their hunt for further recruits and potential big-name outgoings.

Chelsea, Arsenal, and Liverpool had been linked with one of the stars of Euro 2024, as had Barcelona, but the talented player won't be moving this summer.

Williams contributed 27 goals last season in La Liga and would've provided Chelsea with a much-needed danger man out wide, but he looks set on another 12 months in the Basque Country.

Gallagher to Atletico? Gallagher is one top Chelsea player linked with a move away this summer, with interest in the Englishman reaching Spain - where Atletico Madrid is attempting to complete a deal for the midfielder. Talks are underway between both parties and a fee in the region of PS35m plus add-ons is the price that could be demanded.

This would allow Boehly and the board to seek out further additions in the transfer market, and Gallagher would likely see more minutes in Spain - with Dewsbury-Hall, Moises Caicedo, and Enzo Fernandez all potentially ahead of him in Maresca's pecking order.

A fresh pair of hands Despite the anticipated competition between Dorde Petrovic and Robert Sanchez for Maresca's starting goalkeeper spot, Villareal's Filip Jorgenson is set to join the fray at Stamford Bridge.

The 22-year-old Swedish shot stopper, who has reportedly completed his Chelsea medical as per Fabrizio Romano, comes with a price tag of PS20.7m and could be unveiled as a new signing in the coming days.

With the No. 1 shirt firmly in his sights, he will arrive in west London ready to compete for the starting spot in Maresca's first league game against Manchester City.

Another arrival? In other news, Napoli's Victor Osimhen could potentially make a sensational switch to Stamford Bridge this summer. As discussions continue over Romelu Lukaku's move to Naples, there have been suggestions of Osimhen moving in the opposite direction.

Osimhen has also caught the attention of PSG this window, who are rumoured to be the only club that could afford the near-PS100m-rated striker. A loan option hadn't previously been considered, but this development could provide Maresca with one of Europe's most lethal finishers.
