When the Chelsea team was announced to take on Manchester City in the Premier League opener, one notable name was absent from the squad entirely.

Some had tipped Raheem Sterling to start against his former team, after he found the net against them twice last season.

However, he is not in the squad entirely, leaving many to question what has happened to force that decision.

It looks as if Sterling's camp are not too pleased with the decision made that has seen him miss out.

They told the Mail Online that they expected the England international to be involved in some capacity for the season opener.

They said: "Raheem Sterling is contracted to Chelsea for the next three years.
