Chelsea have become something of a joke in the last two seasons when it comes to how many players the Blues have on their payroll.
With over 30 first-team players and many others out on loan or making a push from the academy, it's safe to say that the west London side have gone overboard with their transfer strategy since 2022, a decision that has torn the fanbase.
Although Chelsea did land some gems with the likes of Cole Palmer, the amount of money the Blues have spent has been nothing short of reckless, with Enzo Maresca getting a tune out of what he's been dealt with by the board.
Yet Jason Cundy has been impressed by another player Chelsea have signed.
Veiga has carved a place for himself in the Chelsea squad as a left-back despite naturally being a defensive midfield, with the former FC Basel star already scoring his first goal for the Blues this week in the UEFA Conference League.
And Cundy has been impressed with what he's seen from Veiga, who for PS11m has come across as a real bargain signing for Chelsea who will only grow the more minutes he plays for Maresca in this chaotic yet entertaining system.
Cundy said on Veiga's impact: "There are players like Veiga, who has come in. This boy is 21-years-old. He's a monster in the midfield. He has played left-back, we paid PS11m for him, he's now starting to look like a player. He has played the seventh most amount of minutes this season under Maresca."
Capable of playing in defence and midfield, a powerful athlete with good technical ability, there's a good reason why Veiga has been as impressive as he has been since making the move to the Premier League with Chelsea.
And if the youngster can remain fit and keep impressing under Maresca, the sky is the limit for Veiga, who could become Chelsea's next superstar having married as an unknown quality from an unlikely source.
