The dust has settled on another busy summer transfer window, and Chelsea are probably pretty happy with how things ended up.
They didn't manage to sell everyone they wanted or buy everyone they wanted, but they've made a good start to the season. They certainly haven't had any trouble scoring goals, so the fact that they pursued and failed to sign two targets has quickly been forgotten.

One of them - Jhon Duran - is becoming one of the talking points of the season as he consistently scores wondergoals off the bench for Aston Villa. The other one - Samu Omorodion - came within a whisker of joining Chelsea, before the deal broke down over personal terms.
He ended up joining Porto on loan, and this week used the international break to speak for the first time about his collapsed move to Stamford Bridge:

The full story set to gradually become clear Omorodion has made a really strong start to life at Porto, and it will be very interesting to see what direction his career takes from here. Will Chelsea be left wishing they had made the deal happen, or will the Nicolas Jackson - Christopher Nkunku partnership end up being enough to get them through this season and beyond without regrets?
It's still slightly mysterious what happened to actually collapse a deal that was so close to happening that it had been called a done deal by insiders like Fabrizio Romano. Omorodion says it was God, but we suspect it was image rights.
