'Polar opposites': Noni Madueke explains why two Chelsea players are so good together

Chelsea winger Noni Madueke has been discussing two of his teammates, Levi Colwill and Wesley Fofana.

Noni Madueke, Levi Colwill and Wesley Fofana have all been important players for the Blues this season.

Madueke has brought a huge threat to Chelsea's attack, already scoring four goals in just six league outings. As for Colwill and Fofana, they have formed a partnership at the heart of the team's defence.

Madueke has been really impressed with Colwill this season, with the 21-year-old returning to his preferred centre-back position.

In an interview that has been shared by Chelsea's official YouTube channel, Madueke said: "They really do complement each other. They are polar opposites. And I think... yeah, you guys are polar opposites. Wes carries the ball, Levi passes it.

"Wes is front foot, Levi is like a sweeper, even though you can be front foot, you can do the front foot as well, if there are games where we all need to go, you can do that, but it's probably more your style to be the sweeper. Like I said, you are the control and Wes is like the aggressor, so I think it is perfect. It's a great balance."

Colwill has also discussed a small incident involving him and Madueke, where the two had a little go at each other during training before laughing it off.

Wesley Fofana unavailable for Liverpool trip After picking up a fifth yellow card in Chelsea's 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest just before the international break, Fofana will miss his side's next game against Liverpool.

Summer signing Tosin Adarabioyo could now come in to replace him. He has been Chelsea's third-choice centre-back this season, with the former Fulham man starting in the Blues' 3-0 victory over West Ham United last month.

He was solid that day, making five clearances and winning two ground duels at the London Stadium, according to Sofascore.

Axel Disasi and Benoit Badiashile are other options, but it seems extremely unlikely that the latter will come in for Fofana being left-footed.

Maresca says Adarabioyo is one of the leaders in the dressing room at Chelsea, so that is another reason to start the 27-year-old on Sunday in what is going to be a huge game. Liverpool are the league leaders and have only lost one of their Premier League matches so far.
