Report: Chelsea have changed their mind about signing ‘gem’ attacker after agreeing a fee for him

A busy summer transfer window for Chelsea saw a lot of talented players come through the door to immediately challenge for first team spots.

While Jadon Sancho is the only one up to now who has locked down a regular place in the Premier League side, the likes of Pedro Neto and Renato Veiga are knocking on the door for more regular minutes.

The Blues also picked up where they left off in terms of signing players with an eye for the future.

They completed the signings of highly-rated youngsters Aaron Anselmino and Mike Penders, both set to join up with Chelsea in the future.

It was also reported at the time that they had agreed a fee with Gremio over the potential signing of youngster Gabriel Mec.

According to GE Globo, there are now serious doubts over whether the Blues will go through with the transfer after his performances have dropped off in the last few months.

The attacker had previously been described as a 'gem', and one of the hottest properties on the transfer market at this stage.
