Moises Caicedo has been one of the obvious shining lights at Chelsea's during the opening few months of the 2024/25 campaign.

Despite some big criticism during his first season as a Chelsea player last year, Moises Caicedo is now showing during his second term why he cost PS115m to sign from Brighton.

The 23-year-old central midfielder has started every Premier League match so far this season, even captaining the Blues a couple of times.

When reflecting on the best players so far this year, Alan Shearer named Chelsea's Caicedo in his Premier League Team of the Season. The Ecuador international now looks so settled at Stamford Bridge and it's hard to see a reason why his levels would drop now.

Win 50+ duels Win possession 50+ times Make 30+ tackles Complete 500+ passes It's the perfect demonstration above of how Caicedo has been performing as a complete midfielder in Chelsea's XI this season. In particular, it really helps his overall game when he's got deep-lying playmaker Romeo Lavia sat alongside him, which does give him a bit more licence to roam.

Chelsea insiders believe Maresca views Caicedo as undroppable. It would be a fair standpoint based off the individual's displays recenty.

Meanwhile, John Obi Mikel called Caicedo the first name on Chelsea's team sheet.

Several key Chelsea stars have driven them up to third When Chelsea return to league action this Saturday afternoon away to Leicester City, they'll do so sitting third in the division table.

Here is a look at who statistics say are the top five Blues performers in the league this season:

Rank Player Average rating 1st Cole Palmer 7.87 2nd Moises Caicedo 7.54 3rd Nicolas Jackson 7.44 4th Noni Madueke 7.38 5th Jadon Sancho 7.35 Chelsea players in the 2024/25 Premier League season via Fotmob It's no surprise to see Caicedo rank highly because the all-action midfield star has been the heartbeat of the Chelsea engine room. Meanwhile, there's a lot of attacking flair around him with the likes of Cole Palmer and Nicolas Jackson providing the goals.
