The likes of Liverpool, Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal have all been keeping tabs on an exciting defender who has been deemed one of the best youngsters in Europe.
Liverpool, Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal eyeing Castello Lukeba The player in question is Castello Lukeba, who has made a real name for himself at RB Leipzig in recent years.
TBR Football sources can reveal that Arsenal respect the 21-year-old and see him as someone who could be a possible long-term replacement for William Saliba.
Indeed, every top English club has looked at Lukeba in the last 12 months, including Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea and Newcastle United.
Furthermore, the likes of Real Madrid and Bayern Munich also like the France international, showing just how highly rated he is at present.
However, Lukeba's price has so far deterred suitors, with Leipzig not prepared to come to the table for any less than his PS80million release clause.
Tottenham were previously linked with Lukeba, with speculation doing the rounds between the two parties in the summer of 2023.
Who is Castello Lukeba? Lukeba is a 21-year-old professional footballer who plies his trade for Bundesliga side RB Leipzig and represents France at international level.
He rose through the ranks at Lyon, a club boasting an academy that has produced Karim Benzema, Anthony Martial and Rayan Cherki amongst many others.
Lukeba made his debut aged just 17 against Brest during the opening weekend of the 2021/22 season and made 68 appearances for Lyon overall.
In the summer of 2023, Leipzig came calling, signing him for around PS25million, and he has gone from strength to strength in Germany.
Max Eberl, Leipzig's former sporting director, told the Bundesliga website: "He is left footed and can play as a left-sided centre-back in both a back-three and a back-four.
"Castello's main strengths are his tough-tackling nature, his pace, his positioning and how good he is on the ball."
The outlet also likened Lukeba's to Manchester City star Josko Gvardiol, his predecessor at the Red Bull Arena.
Meanwhile, Transfermarkt say Lukeba 'has firmly cemented his reputation as one of the brightest centre-back talents in the world this season as part of RB Leipzig's watertight defence in the Bundesliga.
'France have a plethora of excellent defenders but Lukeba has already made his senior debut for his country and his career is unquestionably on an upward trajectory.'
