The call-up of Warren Zaire-Emery to the French national team's senior squad has generated a lot of excitement. It's not very often that a 17-year-old gets an opportunity to play at this level of international football.
Current and former French players from across Europe have their thoughts on the teenager's call-up. Crystal Palace striker Odsonne Edouard was one of the players to comment on the Paris Saint-Germain midfielder's form.
"One more for the Blues!" Edouard said (h/t Paris Fans). "It's wonderful for the club and totally deserved for Warren. It is also encouraging for all the youth players who attend the training center and a great reward for all the supervisors.
"It must be said, Warren is a phenomenon! What he achieves at such a young age is truly prodigious. He is breaking all the records, one by one. I wish him to continue on this path as long as possible."
If Zaire-Emery maintains his current level of performance, he may soon become a regular member of the first-team squad instead of being considered for the youth teams. Manager Luis Enrique has entrusted him with the responsibility of leading the midfield, and he shows no signs of giving up that position anytime soon.
On November 18, France has a match against Gibraltar, and on November 21, they will play against Greece. It will be intriguing to see how much playing time Warren Zaire-Emery will get and if he will be given a starting position, considering France has already secured a spot in the UEFA Euro 2024.
