Palmer, Kelly, Tavares - Coventry City injury list and return dates ahead of Stoke clash
Source:Coventrytelegraph

Coventry City's inury concerns are easing significantly with just three senior players now currently out of first team action, with their returns not too far away.

Sky Blues boss Mark Robins has been boosted by the much anticipated recovery of star midfielder Callum O'Hare in recent weeks, with the 25-year-old coming off the bench with eye-catching cameos against Rotherham, West Brom and Preston North End, amounting to a total of 67 minutes.

That was supplemented by an hour for the Under-21s last week, and another week on the training pitch at Ryton this week should edge him closer to a start as City work towards Saturday's Coventry Building Society Arena clash with Stoke. Here is a complete injury round-up, including potential return dates.

Kasey Palmer The playmaker and one of the most creative players in the squad suffered the same adductor tear injury as Ben Sheaf, believed to be in the 3-2 defeat at Cardiff City back in September. Ruled out with an initial prognosis of six-eight weeks, Palmer has been missing for eight long games to date.

That's set to continue for at least one more game to come, with Robins revealing: "He'll be back after the international break, and probably training the week into the Millwall game. We're pleased with that. He's turned a corner now, thankfully. We can look forward to him progressing now fairly quickly."

Possible return date: Saturday, November 25 vs Millwall

Possible return date: Saturday, November 11 vs Stoke

Fabio Tavares The young striker ruptured his Achilles tendon in early January in the FA Cup defeat to Wrexham and the projected comeback time was late September/early October. Tavares has been back on the grass for a month and now joining in certain drills with the first team.

Robins said: "Fabio's working his way through, like Callum (O'Hare). I don't really want to put a timescale on it, but he's looking better. He's joining in with some parts of the sessions now, the unopposed stuff. Maybe passing drills or in-possessions, but on the outside, utilising him in that way. He's getting closer all the time."

Possible return date: Unknown at this stage.
