Haji Wright insists he and his Coventry City team-mates will "turn" the tide of results with the help and backing from the club's "astonishing" supporters.

The Sky Blues suffered a fourth consecutive defeat at the weekend with a 3-2 verdict at Preston North End compounding a miserable run of results with losses to West Brom, Rotherham and Bristol City. Manager Mark Robins suggested after the latest disappointment at Deepdale that some of his players weren't in a "brilliant place" right now, but when asked about the mood in the camp, USA international striker Wright insisted: "It's good. We're all hungry for success.

"I think we all want to win every game. We know what we have to do to win every game and we go out every day in training and to every match with a good mentality."

City entertain Stoke this coming weekend at the Coventry Building Society Arena, with Alex Neil's men having picked up their own form in recent weeks with a four game unbeaten run including three victories. Confidence should be improved for Wright, meanwhile, after scoring twice against Preston to take his season's tally to four goals so far.

"I figure once we fix everything up (results will improve)," he said. "It's not like we're being dominated in all these games that we're losing. It's small margins, and we're losing by one, two goals.

"Then every game we've lost we've been in the game, hopefully once the tide turns we'll start picking up wins and everything will change."

As for the fans, the 25-year-old spoke of his impressions of the club's following since arriving in the summer for a record PS7.7million from Turkish side Antalyaspor, saying: "Yeah, they're amazing. The travelling support has always been something that's astonishing to me. I think the home games go without saying, they're amazing, but even on the away days, when it's rainy and cold like this, they're all there supporting us and it's just amazing."
