Interview: Bobby Thomas looking to bounce back against Stoke City this weekend
Source:Ccfc

Bobby Thomas isn't dwelling on recent results, as him and his team mates look to head into the international break off the back of a positive result against Stoke City.

City head into the game off the back of four defeats, despite producing performances worthy of points in those outings.

The Sky Blues face the Potters in one final fixture before the November break and Thomas is looking forward to being back at the Coventry Building Society Arena.

First few months at Coventry...

"I've settled in really well, the squad has made it easy and the staff, everyone's made the transition pretty simple.

"The squad is very tight on and off the field. There's lots of stuff going on outside football, whether that just be a game of golf or going for dinners most nights we all seem to interact well with each other."

Recent run of results...

"It's a weird one because regardless of results, you've just got to carry on preparing and training the same way because I feel that the standard of training and the attitude towards and the application is the same whether we win or we lose.

"We're just going through a bit of a tough spot at the moment and everyone seems to think, including myself that it's going to click it's going to change at some point.

"We might not win every game, but we're going to be putting in some better performances and picking up better results is what we need to do.

"Around the training ground you've got to carry on being yourself and be there for one another because you never know what's going on."

Dwelling on the defeats...

"You haven't got time for that, to be honest the games come in thick and fast and to dwell on results and performances they won't get you anywhere.

"You've got to try and move on as fast as you can and that'd be the same whether we were to win games as well, obviously, it builds confidence but it's gone at the end of the day, the next game is a different game."

Decisions going against Coventry in recent games...

"It's part of football, we're not going to get every decision and we haven't got VAR that the Premier League have, even though that doesn't look like the most consistent thing either.

"We have to try and take the decision out of their hands. The onus is on us scoring goals without them chalking them off or making decisions where we need to get a goal for a draw or a win.

"We need to try to make it more comfortable without needing a referee's decision."

Playing in a back five or a back four...

"It's a similar position. I feel that we probably all understand quite well, we've probably played in back fours across our career at some point.

"It's just more focused on being a defender and not getting up the field as much, it's just you're a centre half, whereas in a back three maybe you're asked to bring the ball forward more."

The Sky Blue Army...

"They've been excellent, home and away.

"They've brought the numbers everywhere we've been, even in the preseason game where they brought a couple of 1000 to Exeter and then again, whether it be at the CBS, they always seem to bring the numbers."
