How Leicester City have fared in their last five games vs Crystal Palace
Source:Leicester City

Leicester City return to action this weekend with a visit to the capital to face Crystal Palace on Saturday.

Steve Cooper's side are going in search of a first Premier League win this season after drawing one and losing two from their first three fixtures.

The Foxes come up against a Palace side feeling buoyant after a flurry of deadline day activity that included the arrival of Eddie Nketiah.

Palace and Leicester even did business with each other as Odsonne Edouard moved to the East Midlands on a loan deal until the end of the season.

But how have the Foxes fared in their last five games against the Eagles? Let's take a look.

MORE LEICESTER STORIES

It was actually Leicester that took the lead through Ricardo Pereira's excellent effort from range to spark some hope that the Foxes would go on to secure survival.

That lead only lasted three minutes though as Daniel Iversen turned the ball into his own net just before the hour mark.

Then, with seconds of the game to go, Jean-Philippe Mateta struck home from close range to condemn Leicester to defeat and end Brendan Rodgers' tenure at the King Power Stadium, with the FA Cup winner sacked just days later.

Neither side were at their best on the day and this was the first time the two had been involved in a goalless draw together since 2002.

Dewsbury-Hall was on hand to assist the first goal, threading the ball through to 2024 Ballon d'Or nominee Lookman, who fired past a helpless Vicente Guaita to score his first goal since February.

It was then Dewsbury-Hall's turn to get onto the scoresheet on the stroke of half time as he doubled the hosts' advantage from 18 yards in what was his first Premier League goal.

Failed summer transfer target Wilfred Zaha reduced the deficit for the away side with 15 minutes to go, but it wasn't enough to spark a full comeback.

Former Leicester academy graduate Jeffrey Schlupp was on hand to deny Leicester the chance to leave south London with three points to score for Palace in the second half.

Goals from Kelechi Iheanacho and Jamie Vardy had the Foxes two goals to the good and cruising at half time.

However, a different Palace emerged after the break and they pulled one back as Michael Olise scored his first goal for the club.

Schlupp then struck home the equaliser in the 72nd minute as the Foxes surrendered a two-goal lead.

Zaha, who has often been a thorn in the Foxes' side, opened the scoring after 12 minutes and it would take until the second half for Leicester to finally get an equaliser.

Timothy Castagne was the man to bring the sides level before Iheanacho continued his career-best run of form to bag the winner.

A long ball over the top was brought down by the Nigeria international, who twisted in and out before rifling a shot into the top corner in the 80th minute. to make it 14 goals in as many games in all competitions.
