Injury Expert: Everton star has 75% chance of return v Crystal Palace

Amadou Onana has a 75% chance of returning for Everton to face Crystal Palace on Saturday 11 November, according to Ben Dinnery.

The injury expert shared via his Premier Injuries website that Onana should undergo a late fitness test before the game after a knock saw him miss the 1-1 draw with Brighton last time out.

Alongside Onana, both Abdoulaye Doucoure and Jarrad Branthwaite also have a 75% chance of featuring at Selhurst Park, with the former suffering from sickness and the latter picking up a knock against Brighton.

A welcome return

Onana, Branthwaite and Doucoure have been three of Everton's best and most consistent players so far this season, and have played huge parts in their upturn in form in recent weeks, so their availability for the Crystal Palace clash is of paramount importance.

It seems likely that all three will be in the squad at the very least, and Onana could return to the starting lineup if Sean Dyche decides to revert to the more advanced, forward-thinking midfield in use before the injury saw him swap to a more conservative setup.

Idrissa Gueye filled in well against Brighton and helped his side frustrate their opponents for the most part until an unlucky deflection saw them concede, but a different type of presence may be needed in South London.

Brighton's typical possession-based style was one that required Everton to sit in a deep block, which Gueye is the ideal midfielder to assist with. Palace however are similar to Everton in their deep setup and Onana's physicality could make the difference.

In other Everton news, Paul Merson has predicted the weekend's result.
