Richarlison to Everton verdict emerges as Saudi transfer news drops - report

Everton are not expected to be in a financial position to make a move for Tottenham star Richarlison, despite rumours of a possible January exit, according to Liverpool World.

The online news outlet shared on 14 November that the perilous financial position the club finds itself in will dictate the business they can do in the January transfer window.

This comes after The Telegraph [13 November] claimed the Brazilian, who left Everton to join Tottenham in 2022, is attracting interest from Saudi Arabia ahead of the window.

No chance

A fairytale return of Richarlison to Goodison Park would make for a lovely story, but sadly that's all it will be. Spurs would likely demand a huge financial payout if they were to let the Brazilian leave on a permanent basis, and Everton can't afford it.

Daniel Levy is a notoriously stringent negotiator and the fact they spent PS60million on his signature just over a year ago suggests the Spurs chairman will want to break even at the very least.

While the reportedly interested Saudi Arabian clubs could likely afford a deal like that, such has been the frivolous spending they have shown in an attempt to turn global eyes onto their league, it is miles out of the ballpark in terms of what Everton could spend.

Sean Dyche claimed that despite the ongoing talks about a possible takeover by 777 Partners, he is of the belief that he will be working on a shoestring budget, and that would not incorporate a deal for Richarlison.

In other Everton news, Liverpool are considering a big-money move to beat Everton to a deal.
