Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg returned to the Tottenham Hotspur line-up against Fulham and appeared to fit seamlessly into the side.

Speaking about the 2-0 victory over their London rivals on the View From The Lane Podcast, journalist James Maw was discussing the PS20m midfielder's performance.

Ange Postecoglou wasn't completely convinced by his side's performance at full-time on Monday.

James Maddison and Son Heung-min capitalised on two errors from Fulham's Calvin Bassey but the visitors did create some chances.

However, he will be very pleased that his side picked up three points, especially with Yves Bissouma not in the side due to suspension.

The Malian international has been a revelation with one pundit suggesting he's now worth PS100m.

He was replaced by Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg against Fulham and he slotted into the Tottenham side with ease.

However, it did appear at times that some of his Spurs teammates were avoiding passing him the ball.

Defensively, Hojbjerg and Bissouma are very similar, but it's their ability in possession that sets them apart right now.

Tottenham players avoiding passing Hojbjerg the ball vs. Fulham Speaking about the 28-year-old, Maw said: "Yeah, there were a couple of moments when you could see the centre-backs looking to play out and then realise it was [Pierre-Emile] Hojberg and then kind of reshape and then play a slightly different pass.

"But yeah, he was incredibly good and I think it sends a kind of message to those other fringe players that you may not play a game for or start a game for however many weeks but you will get an opportunity eventually and it is possible to play very well."

Hojbjerg earned plenty of praise for his performance with James Maddison suggesting he was 'absolutely outstanding'.

He still managed to complete 76 of his 80 passes against Fulham, although they weren't pressing the Dane with a huge amount of conviction.

Postecoglou has a very settled side at the moment but will take comfort from his fringe players stepping up when required.

A trip to Crystal Palace is the next test they face and an update has already been provided on the two players who were brought off due to injury on Monday.
