Premier League game delayed for 'pathetic' reason at Ipswich vs Everton as kick off moved
Source:The Daily

Ipswich's clash with Everton in the Premier League was delayed by 15 minutes due to an IT issue at Portman Road.

A statement from Ipswich on X ahead of the clash, which was scheduled for 3pm on Saturday afternoon, said: "Due to IT issues here at Portman Road, kick-off has been delayed until 3.15pm." Everton supporters were quick to blast The Tractor Boys on social media, calling the situation "pathetic" and called out Ipswich for being a "tinpot" club.

Ipswich also posted from their official account, stating: "We are aware of an issue with the turnstiles, impacting supporters' entry to Portman Road ahead of this afternoon's game. We ask for your patience as we work on a solution." The decision was then taken to delay the kick-off to 3.15pm.

Ipswich later confirmed: "The localised power issue impacting supporters' entry to the stadium has now been fully resolved. Kick-off in 10 minutes. We thank you for your patience."

The Toffee's sole victory beforehand was against Crystal Palace last month and pressure is mounting on boss Sean Dyche as new owners settle into Goodison Park. Ipswich went into the fixture hoping to bounce back from a 4-1 thrashing at the hands of West Ham.

And they were hoping the home crowd could spur them on to a victory ahead of tough fixtures against Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United next month.
