Everton have just won their second Premier League match in their last three game weeks, and remain unbeaten in four.

Given they started the season with four straight losses, it's fair to say that Everton manager Sean Dyche has turned things around suitably.

And, with Fulham to come to Goodison Park next, before a trip to rock-bottom Southampton, things are finally looking up on Merseyside.

Yesterday, away to Ipswich Town, was a walk in the park for the Toffees.

Everton cruise to victory over Ipswich Town Oh, how Everton needed a routine victory like this.

After all, having squeezed out a 0-0 draw with Newcastle United last time out, and come from behind to beat Crystal Palace the week before, all the travelling fans wanted was a comfortable triumph with little fuss.

That is what they got.

Up stepped Michael Keane to halt any momentum that threatened to bring the hosts, drilling a sweet left-footed strike into the roof of the net just before the break.

Then, Everton did what they do best, and soaked up pressure for the rest of the game.

Their success in that field is owed to a few key players, but one in particular stands out.

James Tarkowski dominated alongside Michael Keane It's so refreshing to see players like Keane and Ashley Young, who are often lightning rods for criticism within the squad, perform so well over recent weeks.

In fact, both have played huge roles in the Toffees' recent resurgence, in which they have amassed eight points from their last four Premier League games.

Keane in particular has suffered from some pretty tough criticism despite his best efforts, with many questioning Dyche for continuing to stick by him.

This kind of scrutiny has been particularly questionable given how James Tarkowski, his centre-back partner, has underperformed beside him.

However, yesterday saw the PS100k-a-week stopper return to his brilliant best at the back, winning 80% of his duels whilst completing seven clearances, via Sofascore.

Rock solid throughout, keeping a second clean sheet in a row, the Liverpool ECHO were similarly complimentary in their post-match player ratings.

Hopefully this can mark the start of a defensive resurgence for the Toffees at last, with Everton fans singing Keane's name at full-time.
