Robbie Mustoe has waxed lyrical about Iliman Ndiaye after he fired Everton to a 2-0 win over Ipswich Town on Saturday 19 October.

Ndiaye scored the first of the Toffees' goals as they came away from Portman Road with all three points to jump up the Premier League table.

The Senegal international has since received praise from all corners, with Mustoe and Robbie Earle the latest to gush about him.

Assessing the win at Ipswich on NBC Sports' The 2 Robbies Podcast, Earle said: "I'm hearing Iliman Ndiaye is the new favourite for Everton fans, he came in with a goal [against Ipswich]."

"He's the saviour, he's the saviour", Mustoe replied.

"Ndiaye is such a good signing, such a good signing, releases Dwight McNeil, who has excelled as a number ten."

Iliman Ndiaye is the saviour for Everton The Goodison Park outfit have signed 12 players since Sean Dyche took charge as their manager in January 2023 and perhaps no one has excited the fans more than Ndiaye.

Not everyone expected the 24-year-old to be as good as he has turned out to be, but he has arguably been the best player this season.

While the goal against Ipswich was only his second in eight league games this term, the attacker's influence extends beyond just goal contributions.

As Mustoe mentioned, the Senegalese has helped release McNeil, who has three goals and assists to his name in the Premier League.

Having mounted a four-game unbeaten run, the Merseysiders are now sixteenth in the table with eight points from as many games, sitting five points above the drop zone.
