Man United star considering move away from club

Manchester United currently sit tenth in the Premier League table after an inconsistent start to the new Premier League season.

The Red Devils have won just four of their eight league matches so far, as well as losing their opening two Champions League group stage games - against Bayern Munich and Galatasaray respectively.

Last time out United were heading for a third consecutive home defeat before substitute Scott McTominay scored twice in added time to earn his side a 2-1 win over Brentford.

Manager Erik ten Hag will be hoping that his side can continue to improve after the international break, but in the meantime it appears that one of his attackers is considering a move away from the club.

As per Football Insider, forward Anthony Martial isn't keen on the idea of remaining a back-up option at Old Trafford.

Martial faces an uncertain future at Old Trafford

The Frenchman joined United from Monaco back in 2015 and made an instant impact in Manchester, scoring three times across his first two Premier League games.

He remained a regular for the Red Devils for several seasons, but has fallen out of favour over the past two-and-a-half years.

In total the 27-year-old has made 307 appearances for United across all competitions, scoring 89 goals and providing 54 assists.

This season, though, he has started just two Premier League games, and the report claims that he is therefore considering his future.

It is also claimed that the France international is keen to return to being United's first choice striker, despite the summer arrival of Rasmus Hojlund from Italian side Atalanta.

Martial himself was close to leaving Old Trafford during the recent summer transfer window, but a move failed to materialise before the deadline and he therefore stayed put.

The player's current contract is set to run until next summer, which could prompt United to sell him in January in order to avoid losing him for free at the end of the season.
