Leeds United centre-back Charlie Cresswell completed a full 90 minutes for the England under-21s as they battered Serbia 9-1 at the City Ground on Thursday evening.

With the international break underway, there's still a fair bit to keep up with from a Leeds perspective as players represent their respective countries over the next week.

Charlie Cresswell has a real opportunity to stamp his mark in the England under-21 setup with the man typically keeping him on the bench, Taylor Harwood-Bellis, out with injury.

However, it didn't take long for the Young Lions to hit back after that 27th-minute setback, as Jaden Philogene, Noni Madueke and Harvey Elliott starred as the home side found their goalscoring touch, hitting Serbia for nine.

A brace for each of those players, plus goals for Jonathan Rowe, Liam Delap, and a Serbian own goal, sealed an emphatic win that could have been more if Cresswell didn't fluff his lines.

England won a corner inside the first five minutes with Cresswell finding himself in acres six yards from goal at the back post, only to inexplicably put it wide of the near post.

Cole Palmer sends cheeky dig Whipping the corner in was PS45million Chelsea signing Cole Palmer, who reacted to Cresswell's post on Instagram when commenting on the result: Where will Leeds finish in 23/24?That sort of chance was Cresswell's bread and butter in our youth side and at Millwall last season, so even he must have been baffled at how that didn't fire into the net.

He won't have been that bothered by it by the end of the game, but to score his first international goal at that level would have been a brilliant moment.

There was very little he could have done about the goal that Serbia scored either, so all in all, it was a strong performance from him and the rest of the England side.
