Setback response, Byram, Anthony and four injuries on Daniel Farke's Leeds United agenda
Source: Leeds Live

Daniel Farke faces the media on Tuesday afternoon for his pre-match press conference. The Leeds United manager will take questions from television, radio, print and online journalists at Thorp Arch ahead of the QPR clash on Wednesday.

Here is a run-down of some of the main topics on the agenda for the boss to address at the training ground today.

Hopefully Farke has no fresh problems to report this afternoon, but he'll be asked about injuries all the same ahead of Leeds' penultimate game before the international break. We know that Junior Firpo and Wilfried Gnonto won't be available again until after the international break, while Djed Spence will be a little while longer, Farke is expected to give an update on their progress and he might mention Stuart Dallas, too.

Dallas is back in training for the first time since breaking his femur in April 2022 and Farke may well be asked to go through his route back into the squad from this point.

Setback response

Saturday was unexpected to say the least. The Whites were flying high in confidence as they made the journey south to take on Southampton, but they were left stunned as the Saints turned them over emphatically.

How Leeds react to Saturday's result will tell us plenty and the manager will be asked about what he has seen from his side over the last couple of days and perhaps about the character and leadership within the group as they bid to respond to their first major setback under Farke. He's also expected to speak about the importance of getting back to winning ways and bringing positive momentum back to Elland Road.

Changes required?

Perhaps the biggest talking point going into Wednesday night's game is the starting XI and who should feature within it. Rightly or wrongly, Farke stuck with a winning team at St Mary's after such a strong showing against Watford.

Changes are surely on the way, though, and it will be interesting to know where Sam Byram and Liam Cooper are at in terms of their ability to make a quick turnaround and start a midweek clash just a few days after playing 90 minutes. Decisions are certainly required in the backline and the same could be said further up the field, too, with Farke potentially set to be asked about calls in midfield and the front four.

A chance for Anthony?

Jaidon Anthony has had to be patient since arriving at Elland Road on loan from Bournemouth but he might well be in line for a first start this week. Farke could be asked about his impressions over his first month at the club and what he feels he could bring to the side should he start against the Londoners.

Revisiting Piroe call?

What is Joel Piroe's best position and might Farke be tempted to mix things up after seeing him struggle to get a foothold in the contest at St Mary's? That was one of the questions coming out of Saturday's defeat and while Piroe's goal threat is enough to keep him in the side, Farke could be asked about his position and whether he has considered utilising him elsewhere.

The Dutchman scored his goals for Swansea City while playing as a number nine and while he has found joy at Leeds playing deeper, his position is still being discussed by supporters.
