Sources have told HITC that Leicester City are bracing themselves for a significant points deduction after breaching financial regulations.

The Foxes may have a huge mountain to climb to avoid relegation this season with a points deduction expected shortly.

Leicester City have two cases to defend after being charged with breaches of Profit and Sustainability Rules.

Leicester were charged by the Premier League due to losses incurred during their time in the top-flight from 2020 to 2023.

Club owner Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha battled those charges using the argument that they could not be charged as they had been relegated and were no longer a Premier League side.

The EFL have now also put forward their findings from Leicester's time in the Championship last term which resulted in a significant overspend.

Sources have told HITC that Leicester are expecting to be charged twice and are braced for a hard-hitting deduction.

Everton were also charged twice in one campaign last season, with the Toffees losing eight points because of their financial breaches.

Their first punishment was an initial 10-point penalty which was reduced down to six upon appeal.

They faced a further two-point deduction later in the season which the Merseyside club chose not to appeal.

Nottingham Forest also faced a four-point deduction last season for breaching PSR.

Leicester are set to kick off their Premier League campaign on Monday evening at home to Tottenham Hotspur.

They will be eager to build up a healthy tally of points before they are hit with a deduction.
