Mohamed Salah has shared a cryptic social media post following Saturday's 2-1 win at Brentford.

The 31-year-old marked his first appearance for the Reds since New Year's Day with a fine individual display at the Gtech Community Stadium as a 4-1 thrashing of the Bees maintained Liverpool's advantage at the top of the Premier League.

Salah, who replaced the injured Diogo Jota at the end of the first half and later scored his 15th goal of the Premier League season, had missed Liverpool's last eight games across all competitions due to representing Egypt at the Africa Cup of Nations and later recovering from a hamstring injury he suffered on January 18 in a 2-2 draw with Ghana.

Following Sunday's victory in West London though, Egyptian journalist Ahmed Shoubir claimed Salah had suffered a recurrence of his recent hamstring injury and could miss Wednesday's game against Luton Town. If true, it would be an untimely blow for Liverpool, who lost Curtis Jones and saw Jota join their ever-growing injury list during the win at Brentford.

Shortly after that news appeared, Salah took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to post a caption-less image of his celebration against Brentford. The post made no reference to the injury claim from Egypt, but Salah is no stranger to posting cryptic messages on social media.

Klopp will provide an update on Salah's condition on Tuesday morning in his pre-Luton press conference at the AXA Training Centre.
