Moises Caicedo has sent a cryptic message to Chelsea supporters ahead of Sunday's League Cup against Liverpool.
The Ecuadorian midfielder is set to play a key role for the Blues on Sunday afternoon as Mauricio Pochettino aims to deliver the first piece of silverware to Stamford Bridge since 2021. Should Chelsea beat the Reds, it would be the Argentine tactician's first trophy in English football having failed to achieve such a feat at his previous clubs Tottenham Hotspur and Southampton.
Chelsea have not been in action since Saturday's impressive 1-1 draw against Manchester City and have therefore spent the week at their Cobham training ground being put through their paces by Pochettino and his staff.
Taking to Instagram on Friday afternoon, Caicedo, who joined the Blues from Brighton & Hove Albion for a record Premier League deal in the summer, appears to have hinted at the buoyant in West London this week, writing: "discipline, effort and dedication."
That mood at Stamford Bridge has been echoed by Caicedo's team-mate Malo Gusto, who believes Chelsea can go toe-to-toe with Premier League leaders Liverpool.
"Against Liverpool, the defeat was a little bit hard for us because the score was big. After this game, we just thought about what more we can do. What we need to keep, what to leave behind.
"After this game, we stayed more together whether on the training ground or in defensive or offensive actions [on the pitch]. That's what we have had in the last three games and I think why we played better and we have to keep it."
