Reds in three-way 'battle' for tricky former Premier League winger

Liverpool have reportedly entered the fray alongside North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal in the race to secure the signature of Barcelona's Raphinha this summer.

According to journalist Graeme Bailey, the Brazilian winger, who previously made waves with Leeds United prior to his move to Spain, has emerged as a prime target for the Reds as they seek to bolster their attacking options amid uncertainties surrounding Mohamed Salah's future at Anfield.

Writing in TBR Football, Bailey says that Barcelona are looking to cash in on the 27-year-old as they look to reinvigorate their squad amid financial constraints.

Raphinha would command a fee over PS50 million Despite enduring spells on the sidelines due to injury setbacks this season, Raphinha has remained a formidable force, tallying an impressive nine goals and 11 assists across 35 appearances in all competitions for Xavi's side.

However, the door is now open for potential suitors who could be able to snatch the Brazilian should they offer a fee slightly exceeding the PS50 million Barcelona paid to take him from Elland Road two years ago.

A ready-made Salah replacement? The former Leeds United forward has been regularly linked with Liverpool in the past, even prior to his move to Catalonia.

The left-footer, who can operate on either side of the pitch, could be seen as a ready-made replacement for Mohamed Salah.

Should interest from the Saudi Pro League be revived, Liverpool's squad doesn't currently boast a natural right-winger, with Harvey Elliott and Diogo Jota the next-best options.

Likewise, if Salah stays, Raphinha could provide useful back-up or indeed act as a long-term replacement.

For Arsenal, they too have a shortage of options on the right beyond Bukayo Saka, while Spurs are looking to progress their rebuild under Ange Postecoglou with further attacking reinforcements.

Whatever happens this summer, it appears Raphinha will be one of the biggest names on the move.
