There was a furore around the club when it was announced that Adidas would be returning as Liverpool's main kit supplier from next season.

With memories of the iconic kits of yesteryear, including the red Candy shirts, the green away kits and the now-replicated grey numbers, fans were understandably excited about the potential for kits going forward.

One of the first bits of information about Liverpool's kits going forward has been revealed. FootyHeadlines are reporting that Liverpool will be designated one of Adidas's 'Elite' teams, qualifying them for different kits to many other sides supplied by Adidas.

What does Liverpool's kit deal with Adidas mean? One of the main perks of the 'Elite' teams is using Adidas's HEAT.DRY technology and putting the Adidas trefoil logo on their kit if desired, allowing for a unique and classy look going forward. Liverpool will join Newcastle United, Celtic, Roma, Bayern Munich, Arsenal, Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus in this category.

Leaks have emerged that Liverpool's third kit next season will return to the iconic sea green colour loved throughout the club's history, with black and white details. This kit will reportedly don the Adidas trefoil logo and a unique Liverpool logo, separate to the current streamlined version or the official club logo.

Liverpool's current deal with Nike is reportedly PS35m a year, with an addition value that takes it above PS60m. A key aspect of Liverpool's deal with Nike has been their willingness to try ans tap into the lifestyle and everyday-wear market. This will undoubtedly have been a large factor in the decision to move to Adidas, with the brand being iconic for their streetwear and their ability to turn classic football shirts into fashionwear.

Trent Alexander-Arnold has also recently signed an agreement with Adidas to wear their Predator boots, another iconic staple of Adidas's arsenal. There remains hope that this could be a factor in his decision to re-sign with the club, with his contract expiring at the end of the season.
