Liverpool fans will perhaps be keeping a closer eye on new contracts as opposed to new players in the coming months.

Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah will all see their Liverpool contracts expire next summer.

Jarell Quansah recently signed a new deal, and while that has pleased many supporters, new contracts for the star trio are undoubtedly the priority.

But it remains to be seen if Arne Slot is working on such deals behind the scenes with the powers that be.

The new Liverpool manager has quickly won over the Anfield faithful, but his stock will rise even higher with contract extensions for those three key players.

Liverpool fans labelled Nyoni 'special' in pre-season, with the 17-year-old now confirming his first deal on Instagram with the words: "First professional contract."

And it has certainly excited many Anfield players, with Ibrahima Konate commenting: "Okeyyyyyyyyyyy," as Jayden Danns and James McConnell replied with raised hands and clapping hands emojis respectively.

Other Reds players such as Van Dijk and Alexis Mac Allister meanwhile liked the image of Nyoni signing his new contract.

What role will Trey Nyoni play under Arne Slot? Nyoni made his only senior Liverpool appearance to date in last season's FA Cup, appearing as a substitute in the fifth-round win over Southampton.

The midfielder was aged just 16 at the time of his debut, and has gone on to shine for the club's Under-21s this season.

He will have undoubtedly learned a lot from pre-season under Slot, where he scored in the friendly clash with Sevilla at Anfield.

And the 17-year-old, who made the switch from Leicester City in 2023, is very likely to feature under the new boss in the coming months.

Nyoni, who can play centrally or out wide, is a regular for the Under-21s, but was named on the bench by Slot for the clash with Bologna earlier this month.
