'Mo is in a very good place' - Slot on Salah's future after cryptic social media post
Liverpool boss Arne Slot said that Mohamed Salah's expiring Liverpool contract is "up to him and the club" to sort, as the forward's future at Anfield remains uncertain.
The in-form Egypt international - who scored the winner in Liverpool's 2-1 comeback victory over Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday - is facing an uncertain future at Anfield with his contract set to expire following the 2024/25 campaign. His expiring deal makes him one of three key Liverpool players with no assurances over a prolonged stay with the Merseyside club, as Trent Alexander-Arnold and captain Virgil van Dijk are also in the final seasons of their contracts.

But speaking to TNT Sports Brazil, ahead of Liverpool's UEFA Champions League game with Bayer Leverkusen, Slot said that replacing Salah is "not what I think about". He said: "The only thing I think about is he is so important for us. Scores important goals, works hard for the team.
"I'm hoping he can enjoy that feeling many, many, many more times. Especially if I'm here but also if I'm not here. I'm hoping he can do this many more times.
"He's been incredible for Liverpool over the past eight years. He's been incredible for us this season and I hope he can continue doing this for the rest of the season and maybe longer to come, but that's up to him and the club to find the idea about the future."
On Sunday, Salah posted on social media saying he would "never forget" the feeling of scoring at Anfield, "no matter what happens". And the Liverpool boss quashed suggestions that the forward was alluding to his uncertain future, saying the post had been misinterpreted, adding that Salah is "in a very good place" ahead of his side's UEFA Champions League clash with Bayer Leverkusen on Tuesday.
"I haven't spoken to him about that," Slot said in a press conference when asked about Salah's post. "You interpreted it in a way that maybe other people don't.
"I don't look at Instagram posts of my players, I only talk to them which you can't, which is the advantage I have.
"Mo is in a very good place at the moment. As long as he has been at Liverpool, he has been in a very good place, but this season again as well. I am hoping he will make a post after tomorrow and on Saturday again. What he said with that, that is not important.
Liverpool resilience gives Slot a 'lot of confidence for the season'
"For me what is important is how he plays and what he tells me when we have conversations. That is what matters and not how you guys interpret one of his posts."
Slot previously made clear he does not wish to engage in conversations with the media regarding the contract status of Salah, Alexander-Arnold and Van Dijk, but said the ongoing saga is not "disruptive" to his side's campaign. Liverpool have made a storming start under their new boss, sitting two points clear at the top of the Premier League while maintaining a perfect record in Europe.
Following the meeting with Leverkusen, Slot's Liverpool will be in front of the TNT Sports cameras - with Aston Villa travelling to Anfield on Saturday.
