Liverpool could repeat Alexis Mac Allister trick for player with Lionel Messi seal of approval

At Liverpool, Jurgen Klopp has heralded a new era. His Liverpool 2.0 is designed to surpass the achievements of his first generation, and the signs are positive early on. The Reds have made a good start to the season, and Klopp's new acquisitions have already endeared themselves to the club's supporters.

But the Liverpool boss will not stop here. His 2.0 volume still needs upgrades and new additions. This is far from the finished product. Liverpool will be refining and retuning this new version for years to come in order to create the perfect final product.

With the January transfer window coming up, already there are rumors and speculation about which area could be enhanced next. But Liverpool will not only be thinking about January but also next summer, when Klopp could once again undertake some serious business in several key positions.

One area where Liverpool may not be expected to do much business is probably in attack. The Reds are well-stocked in that department, and Klopp will be content with his current options. But of course, that could change should offers arrive that are too tempting to turn down.

It's why Liverpool is probably keeping an eye on a few options who could be added to Klopp's squad just in case something happens next summer. With the emergence of Saudi Arabia, last summer showed nothing is off the table and contingency plans always have to be in place.

According to Football Transfers, one of the players in attack who is on Liverpool's transfer radar is Brighton winger Ansu Fati. The Spanish international, who is on loan from Barcelona, has made a positive start to life in England, with five goal contributions in five starts in the Europa League and the Premier League so far.

Fati was once touted as one of the most promising wonderkids from La Masia after Lionel Messi. In fact, the eight-time Ballon d'Or winner tipped a then-16-year-old Fati for greatness back in

"He's an amazing player and he's got what it takes to succeed," Messi told FIFA.com (via the Standard). "I hope he keeps on enjoying it and that all the fuss around him doesn't have a negative impact on him because he has the quality to become one of the best."

Brighton is a club that Liverpool clearly keeps a close eye on. Last summer, the Reds didn't just sign Alexis Mac Allister but also tried to bring in Moises Caicedo. Perhaps Fati could be next, although the Reds will have to deal with his parent club this time in order to lure him to Anfield.

On paper though, Fati is someone who makes sense in terms of being a typical Klopp player. He presses well, has an abundance of energy and crucially, he is very versatile. Over the course of his career, he has played on the left and right wing, and is very comfortable playing centrally.

Looking at the profile of attackers at Liverpool's disposal at the moment, Fati shares many traits with the club's current options, meaning he ticks a lot of boxes for the club. Time will tell whether Liverpool's pursuit will go further, but for now, he is definitely someone to keep an eye on.
