South American football expert Tim Vickery recently discussed the potential move of Claudio Echeverri to Manchester City. The 58yearold provided details about negotiations between the two clubs and shared his thoughts on what kind of player Echeverri is.
Vickery mentioned that there are ongoing discussions regarding when exactly Echeverri will make the move from River Plate to Manchester City. He also highlighted speculation in Argentine press suggesting that it may happen either in June or December, with a possible loan out initially.
The South American football expert emphasized that if Manchester City is willing to pay over PS20m for a player like Echeverri, it wouldn't make sense leaving him in South America for an extended period. Despite comparisons to Lionel Messi and Diego Maradona, Vickery pointed out that he brings unique qualities such as real pace, changes of rhythm, knowledge of attacking space among others.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Man City has agreed on a fee with River Plate for around PS21.7m for the young talent who will reportedly sign a sixyear deal once everything is finalized.
