Manchester City are nearing a deal for Troyes' Savinho, who is currently on loan at Girona. The three clubs involved are owned by the same group, making it easier for an agreement to be reached. The young winger has impressed with seven goals and seven assists in 27 games this season, attracting attention from other clubs including Barcelona.

Barcelona's sporting director Deco has contacted Savinho's entourage showing interest in the teenager. Faced with the possibility of losing him to Barcelona, Manchester City changed their preestablished plan of having him continue at Girona for one more season.

Two months ago Pep Guardiola and Txiki Begiristain decided that he would join Manchester City next season but now they have accelerated their efforts as they don't want one of their promising talents slip away.

Savinho is reportedly 'absolutely happy' about joining Etihad as he believes playing under Guardiola will improve his chances of representing Brazil internationally which was described as one of his two great dreams.
