Diogo Jota, Alisson Becker, Mohamed Salah - Liverpool injury latest amid Man City title race

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is worried about his team's injury list, which includes Diogo Jota. Jota might be out for a few months and 'keeper Alisson Becker won't play against Luton Town on Wednesday night.

Dominik Szoboszlai is also facing a race against time ahead of the Wembley date with Chelsea in the League Cup final on Sunday. Jota picked up an injury against Brentford last Saturday - Liverpool won 4-1 in that Premier League match.

Alisson had to miss the win over Brentford as he'd injured his hamstring in training the day before. Liverpool are still checking how bad the injury is. While he's recovering, substitute goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher will deputise.

Curtis Jones also got injured recently and isn't ready to face Luton Town on Wednesday. There are reports from Egypt that Mohamed Salah - back on the pitch after a month recovering from a hamstring issue of his own - has picked up another problem.

Speaking about the team's injury situation on Tuesday, Klopp said: "Not great, I would like to say no issues but we have some. Not available: Ali, muscle injury, we don't know how long it will take but definitely not the foreseeable time coming back. Then we have Diogo with a knee issue is ruled out. Curtis, with a bone/ligament issue, is ruled out."

"With others, we will deal with it day by day. With muscle things, we will see for tomorrow. If you see the line-up early enough you can see who made it and who didn't make it. That's it, pretty much."

Klopp added: "With Diogo it will obviously rather take months (not weeks). And Curtis... with injuries you have important days, like day five or day 10, when you judge the situation again, because not everyone reacts in same way. It depends on pain level they still have and stuff like this. I couldn't give you a timeframe even if I wanted to. They all react differently. That is just how it is. When you don't have these players it makes no sense (to speculate)."

Szoboszlai aggravated a hamstring issue earlier this month but has not yet resumed full training having tentatively targeted Sunday's League Cup final for a return, with Trent Alexander-Arnold among those already ruled out of the Wembley showpiece.

Klopp added: "The longer-term, Trent and Dom are on their way back but not in team training yet, so that means they are not available as well. That is the situation. What I said after the game directly is as long as we have 11 players we will go for it and that is exactly the idea. With the boys it's day by day and with the games it's game by game."
