The Premier League will still be handling the 115 FFP charges against Man City in early 2025.

That is the opinion of finance expert Kieran Maguire, who exclusively told Football Insider that the Premier League has 'shot itself in the foot' over the timing of City's case.

Everton manager Sean Dyche questioned last week why his side's two financial charges have been heard by an independent panel before the 115 charges against Manchester City.

City allegedly breached Premier League financial rules 115 times over the course of multiple seasons dating back to the 2009-10 campaign.

Premier League CEO Richard Masters previously told the culture, media and sport committee that a 'date has been set' for City's trial.

Meanwhile, Everton are set to hear the verdict of their second PSR breach this season due to new fast-track regulations introduced after City's charges.

Man City FFP trial will run into next year Maguire explained that City's legal team will need far more time than Everton to prepare 115 separate defences to their charges.

"To a certain extent, Sean Dyche has answered his own question," Maguire told Football Insider's Sean Fisher.

"Everton have two breaches while Manchester City have got 115.

"They have to be constructed by the prosecution team and also both the prosecution and the defence require access to documentation.

"So Manchester City's team have got to be given the appropriate amount of time to put together 115 defences.

"The Premier League, to a certain extent, has shot itself in the foot.

"They were so keen to communicate that they are serious and are dealing with City's charges.

"City took a step back and said 'Okay, well we need time to put together these 115 charges'.

"I suspect you and I could be having this conversation still in 12 months' time."
